CryptoQuant CEO: Bitcoin Whales Acquire 47,000 BTC Valued at $2,967,768,000 within 24 Hours Amid ‘New Era’
Bitcoin whales have acquired almost $3 billion worth of BTC within a 24-hour period, according to CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju. He revealed that these deep-pocketed investors bought tens of thousands of BTC, suggesting the arrival of a new era. Ju utilized CryptoQuant search filters to identify whales holding at least 100 BTC, engaging in transactions within a 24-hour timeframe, and not classified as centralized exchange or miner wallets. The recent surge in whale activity is unrelated to the approval of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In a previous statement, Ju mentioned that new crypto whales, defined as investors holding at least 1,000 BTC with an average coin age of less than 155 days, have accumulated nearly double the amount of BTC compared to long-term holders. These long-term holder whales possess at least 1,000 BTC with an average coin age of 155 days or more. The increase in whale activity is attributed to the transfer of old BTC tokens to new holders after Bitcoin’s average dormancy rate reached a 13-year peak. As of now, Bitcoin is trading at $63,582, reflecting a 2.86% rise in the past 24 hours.
