Former Goldman Sachs executive Raoul Pal suggests that the increasing adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency indicates that they are on track to attract four billion users. Pal predicts that by the end of 2025, crypto will have more than one billion users, based on a model that compares the growth rate of the internet during its early years to the growth rate of crypto since 2016. He notes that crypto has been growing at a rate of 137% per year, compared to the internet’s growth rate of 76% per year. Pal believes that by 2030, half of the world’s population will have adopted Bitcoin and crypto, reaching a total of four billion users. Although Pal acknowledges that these projections may not be perfect, he finds the numbers to be astonishing.
