Raoul Pal Predicts Valuations of Two Digital Asset Subsectors Will Plummet Due to the Upcoming Crypto Summer
Raoul Pal, a former executive at Goldman Sachs, predicts that two specific sectors within the digital asset space could experience astronomical valuations during the upcoming “crypto summer.” Pal, who has a million followers on the social media platform X, suggests that altcoin projects centered around artificial intelligence (AI) and tokenized real-world assets (RWA) may skyrocket in value during this phase of the market cycle.
The term “crypto summer” generally refers to a period of rising prices and increased trading volume. Pal explains that during this time, it can be challenging to differentiate between genuine opportunities and speculative hype. He notes that unproven narratives like AI and RWA tend to attract inflated valuations, and memes can drive prices to unreasonable levels.
Pal also expresses his belief that Ethereum (ETH) could outperform Bitcoin (BTC) in this market cycle, while Solana (SOL) may surpass both Bitcoin and ETH in terms of performance. He suggests that the start of the altcoin season, which coincides with crypto summer, is when ETH begins to outshine BTC. Additionally, SOL experiences accelerated growth compared to BTC and ETH during this time.
Despite his positive outlook on the crypto markets, Pal cautions that digital assets will not rise in a linear fashion towards new all-time highs. He predicts that there will be a couple of significant corrections due to excessive leverage, referring to this period as the “banana zone.”
In the past, Pal has mentioned that the crypto market is approaching the banana zone, where both Bitcoin and altcoins witness parabolic rallies leading to new record levels.
