Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink (LINK), believes that the approval of spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a sign that the regulator will also approve ETF offerings for other cryptocurrencies in the future. Nazarov sees this as just the beginning, with the trajectory being similar to how many systems and protocols initially listed Bitcoin and Ethereum before eventually listing a multitude of other tokens. Earlier this year, Nazarov referred to the launch of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds as a “watershed moment” that could attract a massive influx of capital from the global finance sector. He emphasized that the net new buyers in this cycle are the global financial system, and the Bitcoin ETF provides them with investment and payment rails to comfortably allocate capital towards cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.
