Mark Cuban Billionaire Sells off Dozens of NFTs in Two Days and Lists Two More for Sale

Celebrity mogul Mark Cuban has recently sold off a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that had been inactive for years, completing transactions for a total of 14 tokens between the weekend and Monday. The most lucrative sale was a “Pudgy Penguin” token, fetching nearly $31,000 in Ethereum, as detailed on Cuban’s OpenSea profile. Additionally, Cuban has put up two NFTs for sale which remain unsold: an “MFFL” token valued at over $51,000 in ETH, and a “Deuteronomy 25:4” token priced at over $17,000 in the second-largest cryptocurrency.

Before this recent flurry of activity, Cuban had last engaged in NFT sales on OpenSea approximately 2.5 years ago. The Shark Tank star has previously voiced optimism about NFTs, particularly in the realm of book publishing, stating in a 2022 Forbes interview that they offer significant potential for the industry. He highlighted their potential use as textbooks, proposing that NFTs could streamline the process of purchasing and reselling educational materials, ensuring ongoing royalties for authors and publishers alike.
