Bank Refuses Responsibility, Insists Victim Pays $2,800 Negative Balance in Return to s Bank Account: Report

A banking customer in the United States claims that $9,100 mysteriously disappeared from his account, even after he reported suspicious activity to the bank. Roberto Rangel, a military veteran, alleges that USAA refused to reimburse his account and demanded that he pay off a negative balance of $2,800 caused by the theft. To settle the debt and protect his credit score, Rangel was forced to sell some of his valuable possessions. Despite months of contacting USAA to recover his retirement savings, Rangel was unsuccessful. Frustrated, he turned to local news outlets for help. After KABB’s news team stepped in, the bank reevaluated Rangel’s case, returned the stolen funds, and issued a statement. According to KABB, they have spoken to numerous individuals who have experienced similar issues with USAA. With over $2.569 billion in assets and more than 13 million members, USAA is based in San Antonio.
