CryptoQuant CEO Predicts the Future “Killer Use Case” of Cryptocurrency

The CEO of CryptoQuant, a market intelligence firm, has identified a potential “killer” use case for cryptocurrencies. Ki Young Ju, in a recent thread on the social media platform X, stated that the political process will eventually be tokenized due to its narrative-driven nature. Ki believes that the design of digital assets makes them a perfect fit for politics, citing the recent launch of the crypto asset Official Trump (TRUMP) as just the beginning.

According to Ki, “PoliFi,” or political finance, will be a game-changing use case for cryptocurrencies. He argues that a strong crypto asset can attract capital and talent through a compelling narrative, creating a self-building internet organization. The power of a narrative is strengthened when it resonates with the majority, features extreme and provocative themes, and sparks divisive debate. Politics checks all three boxes as it is widely relatable, provocative, and inherently polarizing. Ki suggests that political parties should issue their own coins, allowing members to invest and fostering a sense of belonging, while the free market quantifies public sentiment.

Ki envisions these communities as self-sustaining and highly engaged, with the Republican and Democratic parties launching their own official PoliFi coins. He even suggests the possibility of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that track politician-backed tokens. Ki sees Trump Coin as just the beginning of this potential trend.

At the time of writing, TRUMP is trading for $17.39, showing a fractional increase for the day. Ki also notes that we are currently in a “selective” altcoin season, where altcoins from certain groups are managing to stay afloat amid uncertain market conditions. He points out that only a few altcoins currently have a high correlation to Bitcoin, with coins related to institutional adoption, stablecoins, and memes surviving while others, like Ethereum, are sluggish.
