Coinbase and Visa Collaborate to Enable RealTime Account Funding

Leading US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has unveiled a partnership with Visa, the renowned credit card company, aimed at facilitating real-time account-to-account transactions.

In a recent press release, Visa announced that this collaboration will enable customers in both the US and EU to use eligible Visa debit cards for instantaneous deposits into their Coinbase accounts, effectively bridging the divide between conventional finance and the realm of digital assets.

“By integrating with the Visa Direct network, Coinbase users will enjoy the ability to fund their accounts in real time with eligible Visa debit cards. With millions of users already linked to a debit card, this new capability will enhance the immediate transfer of account funds for those utilizing an eligible Visa debit card. Visa Direct ensures swift and secure money movement, further closing the gap between traditional financial systems and blockchain technology, thereby reducing the waiting times for fund availability.”

Additionally, the Visa Direct service allows customers to purchase digital assets directly using their debit cards and to withdraw funds to their bank accounts.

Akash Shah, Senior Director of Product Management at Coinbase, emphasized in the press release, “Introducing this feature for our customers aligns with our mission to enhance economic freedom globally. The integration with Visa Direct offers our eligible clients real-time access to their funds for trading. By enabling seamless money transfers and empowering them to manage their finances, we are providing the trust, security, and flexibility they desire.”
