Macro Expert Identifies Four Potential Catalysts That Could Spark an ‘Historic’ Stock Market Melt-Up in 2021

David Hunter, the chief macro strategist at Contrarian Macro Advisors, believes that the stock market is poised for an unprecedented rally. In a recent interview with journalist David Lin, Hunter discusses the factors that he believes will drive a surge in equity prices.

Hunter predicts that lower interest rates will be a significant contributor to the rally. He expects that inflation will decrease and move towards the target of 2%, which will be received positively by investors. Additionally, he anticipates an upturn in earnings, leading to increased earning expectations over the next six months and raised estimates for the following year.

Furthermore, Hunter believes that a market reversal will compel hesitant investors to enter the market. These investors have been waiting for a substantial decline in stock prices before getting involved. However, the fear of missing out (FOMO) will eventually kick in, prompting them to take action. Despite initial skepticism, many investors failed to capitalize on the market’s movement from 3,500 to 4,600 and even when it dipped to 4,100 last October. It was only when the market reached new highs that they began to jump on board.

As of the time of writing, the S&P 500 Index is trading at 5,180.74, according to MarketWatch.
