Philippine Telco Giant Collaborates with BlockchainSpace to Introduce YEY, a Polygon-Based Community Rewards Platform, at FIBA 2023
Singapore’s BlockchainSpace and Philippines telecom provider Smart Communications have partnered to bring Web 3.0 to a wider audience in Southeast Asia. The collaboration was realized in August 2023 with the launch of YEY at the FIBA Basketball World Cup. QR touchpoints were strategically placed at the tournament venues, allowing attendees on the Smart network to receive exclusive Smart-FIBA Shinys as tokens. These Shinys also served as on-chain tickets for an off-platform promotional raffle in collaboration with the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry. The YEY app, built on the Polygon PoS blockchain, offers a seamless onboarding process for users, allowing them to create wallets and receive NFTs with ease. The app also empowers creators, games, and brands to create exclusive digital collectibles called Shinys. YEY aims to bring down barriers of entry and provide the easiest way to join the Web 3.0 landscape. The FIBA deployment demonstrates YEY’s potential for integrating real-life user experiences with blockchain technology. BlockchainSpace sees this partnership as a way to propel YEY beyond the Web 3.0 ecosystem and into the mainstream market. Infinity Ventures Crypto, an investor in BlockchainSpace, believes that the launch of YEY will strengthen the relationship between the community, creators, brands, and games. YEY is currently in its pre-alpha stage and is welcoming enterprise collaborations of any size or industry. BlockchainSpace is a Web 3.0 solutions company based in Singapore, focusing on gaming and creator communities.
